Disclaimer 3: This is a review made for the Spanish audience, if you want to see the review in English, a link to it will be made when the translation is done.

¿No?
que mal, porque volvió

El ejemplo perfecto de inutilidad
¿La extrañaron? ¿No? que mal
 porque volvió

¿Saben quién es? ¿No?

My First Impressions on Pokemon Shuffle

I really didn't wanted to do this, but I really had to see what was the big problem with this, so I downloaded Pokemon Shuffle, but right before I start with this "review" (I prefer Fisrt Impression, but that doesn't mean a thing), I want to rant on a REALLY BIG DISCLAIMER:

I don't like Candy Crush, Bejeweled or any of the like (Basically any Line-up Puzzle game), is not in my zone of interest and I couldn't care any less about them, but when I started to hear the backslash from this game (that it sucked because of the Microtansaction instead of the game itself), I had to download this game to see if people was right about this one, especially because:

A) I never liked the idea of talking crap about a game that you never played, even if it is justified (reason why I'll end up playing eventually E.T., Sonic '06, Sonic '14 and the likes), for me, ou'll only have 100% right to talk about a game when you had played it, because then you can truly tell where did it sucked and where did it shone, or if it wasn't worth it to begin with.

B) I am a man that lives with the saying of "Give credit where credit is due" and since this game is Free-To-Play that means I can actually play it to see if this was in the end a FTP or a Pay-To-Win videogame (Great, people is gonna compare me with the idiots who defend Sonic '14), because beign this game for free, I have no excuse to not go and play it in this moment of Devil's Advocate feeling I have right now.

And now with that said, lets talk about the darn game (First I'll talk about the gameplay and the music, if you're not interested on that, scroll down to read the part of the microtransaction):

You only need 686 blocks to use it, just in case you want to use the space as an excuse to to crap on the game.

Gameplay:

Every stage basically consist on having to defeat a Pokemon in a 6X6 square space that is filled with pokemons that you have captured (at the beggining you have default pokemon) and every time you line-up 3 Pokemon of the same type you cause damage to the pokemon on the Top of the Screen and you have to deplete its life bar before the amount of turns to move given to you runs out (Example: You have to defeat an Espurr in 7 moves or less), a bigger line (like a 4-line of pokemon or more) or a combo line (after making a line you manage to make another line) deals more damage to the pokemon in the Top of the screen, if you make a line of pokemon that are Super efective against the Top Pokemon, you deal doble damage (i.e.: the Charmander in the Top of the screen is fire type and if you line up 3 squirtle (water type) you deal doble damage to it) and the less moves you take to defeat the Pokemon the more bonus points you get.

How to catch a Pokemon: When you defeat the "boss" you enter in the "catching" of the game, when you defeat the "boss" you go to the "catching" moment, here the pokemon shows the rate (%) of Catchability that shows how big is your chance of catching the pokemon, but to make things better for you, the less moves it took you to to beat the The Top Pokemon, the bigger will be the bonus ratio given to you to catch the pokemon (i.e.: if you defeated Eevee (That has a 20% catch rate) in less than 7 moves you will get another 36% to boost the catch rate).

How to "move": you get an amount of "hearts" to move (a move is when you go to fight pokemon), you use 1 heart every time you move and before you attack you can choose wich pokemon you can bring with you (up to four pokemon that will fill your 6X6 square... thing...) to beat the "boss", each pokemon has an ability that migh help you out in the "fight" and right before you fight you can choose some items to use in the fight, like extra moves or extra experience for your pokemon (yeah they level up, evolve and deal more damage when they do, but I'm pretty sure nobody will ever care)

The Music: The game use music that comes from a VERY FAMILIAR GAME but at least it does sounds good it always relaxed me and helped me to keep cool so I could think of a way to make the lines.

And now to the Part I'm pretty sure you decided to read first and hence you skipped all I just wrote because You don't care for any that:

THE MICROTRANSACTIONS:

And now I already said that you get hearts to move, but to refill those hearts you can:

A) wait for 30 min to restore one heart

B) Use Crystals to buy more Hearts.

And about those coins you can use to buy Items (With the minimal price is 300 but bigger items are over 1500) before the fight, to gain Coins you can:

A) Win a "boss"/Stage whatever and get 100.

B) Buy more Coins using Crystals

And Those Crystals that you need to buy Hearts or Coins? You pay money for them, so basically if you want to move more you have to pay them up with real money, or give them real money to use the items that could help ou out a lot (like extra exp.) and while I don't mind the hearts (because while their refilling you/I can go to play another game) it does grate me with the coins because then you have to be VERY picky of when and how to use the coins the game gives you (and since I'm a greedy bastard I'll never use them).

How much money do you have to pay to use those crystals? IDK, I don't have any Dollars since I live in Venezuela, so I never took bother to look into it, which basically means that I am forced to play this without paying any amount of money whatsoever.

So, is it a PTW in the end? well, to be a PTW you have to lose in some way because you aren't paying them anything (something that most FTP MMORPG tend to do) because when you don't pay, you cannot get the super powerful equipment (which means you're screwed when fighting against those that DO pay and can get that Super equiptment, darn whales), or you have to waith ridicilous amounts of time to actually keep playing (like FF All of the Bravest, Dungeon Keeper (the one from 2014 done by EA) or almost all of the Facebook games that were the reason of why I joind Facebook to begin with... and then I got burned), but with this game I haven't payed a single dollar on it but I haven't suffered so far and after I run out of Hearts, I just go to play another game that I can enjoy more.

Overall: the game plays well, is obvious that Nintendo decided to use Pokemon into their design (along with the other stuff that they copied from Candy Crush) to make their game fresh and different from other puzzle-line up games, so it plays well, and if the microtransaction are a problem for you, don't worry, I have zero Dollars so I cannot pay for Crystals, all I can do is go through waiting 30 min to get a new heart and play another Stage and ignoring the Items, and if I, the one that is forced to play without any money can enjoy this, then this game is a FTP done right, now let's just hope Nintendo donesn't decide to Copyrigth the word "Shuffle".

7/10

And now if you excuse me, I'm gonna play some HarmoKnight (My second pick to redeem from Club Nintendo and also done by Game Freak).

My First Impressions with Metroid II

So I played Metroid II (My first pick to redeem on Club Nintendo before it shuts down)
It was something unexpected, to be a game that is many times told that it needs a remake, it does, but surpringsingly, it still plays well enough (in Metroid I got lost even with a guide, but here, I only used it once and shortly after I never needed it again, and I used it almost like, at the beggining), I thought I was gonna end up struggling with the jumping and aiming my shots... and I did... for about the first 5 minutes, after that it went well for me, what surprised me the most was the soundtrack, its SO SMALL yet so effective, I mean just listen to the title theme while remembering that you're going to a world infested with Metroids to destroy them: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=453temu5BIg
And yeah, there isn't much to listen, basically when you're in caves the music practically disappears, to the point that when you listen something else you know you have gone somewhere or you're in trouble (in case you encounter Metroids), Oh, and let's not forget the star of the game: The Metroids: they start easy, I kid you not, the first encounter with an Alpha Metroid is easy, but the more they evolve (Gamma Metroid onwards), they start to become more viscious, to the point that the first time you encounter a Gamma, Zeta or Omega Metroid, you might die if you're low on energy or low on missiles, so always have those two in check.
Something that also surprised me is how revolutionary this game is for the franchise, not only by giving us the desing we all love from Samus in her Powersuit (Since the Gameboy didn't had any colors the game had to tell us somehow that we got a new suit), but also giving us the Spider-Ball (Which we wont see back until Prime), the choice to change beams at will (But you have to search for the statue that has the beam and again, not seen again until Prime), recharge rooms (rooms with Energy/missiles refills) and save rooms (Good bye to those annoying passwords), etc. And what surprise me the most: All of this in such a small game, if you get to play this you will understand what I mean.
Overall: for my first impression of the game, it leaved me very happy and satisffied with the result. making me wish even more for this game to get a remake on a 3DS. 8/10.
P.S.: Kudos for the designers for making the hatchlings just as scary as the other Metroid forms (except Alpha Metroids, too dumb and to easy).

Black Bullet Review (No Spoilers)

Disclaimer 1: This review is based on my personal opinion and what I find to be the most important thing to note in this anime, if you do not agree, that's your opinion.

Disclaimer 2: If you feel that this review does not look at the same points as in other reviews that I've done, that's probably because I thought this pints were more important in this review.

In the year 2011, humanity has almost been destroyed by parasites called Gastrea, in 2021 (10 years later) the few survivors are held in the city of Tokyo, protected by huge towers that repel the Gastrea (since the towers are made of a material that not only repel them but it can also destroy them if shooted at enough speed) and where people live in fear that someday the Gastrea might try to finish what they started ... the few Gastrea that achieve to enter the city are eliminated by the "Civil Security": people with enough authority to wield weapons capable of eliminating the Gastrea and accompanied by an initiator (girls with superhuman abilities) or, as they're also called, the "Cursed girls" as they are the product of Gastreas that raped pregnant women during the first war against Gastrea and therefore the little girls are highly feared and hated. The story begins with a member of the Civil Security called Satomi Rentaro and her Initiator Aihara Enju who are fighting the Gastrea but they may end up discover a possible greater evil: The very people they are trying to protect ...

Satomi Rentaro (up) and Enju Aihara (down), our two main protagonists

Created by Kanzaki Shiden in 2011 being originally a light novel (which is still publishing) published by the company Dengeki Bunko: which tend to publish the works of new talents as Kanzaki. Other works have also been published by this company as Acchel World, Persona 2 , Oreimo, My Girlfriend Pet from Sakurasao, Shakugan no Shana, and many more; This company belongs to ASC II Media Works which belongs to Kadokawa (Kadokawa has a lot of companies under it's division, and those companies has their own divisions), ASCII Media Works is a company that is responsible for making various types of magazines (one for PlayStation, one for Nintendo, one that publishes light novels, etc.) after seeing that Black Bullet obtained popularity, they decided to make a Manga adaptation, made by Dengenki Maoh (Manga) in August 2012, and in 2014, Kinema Citrus and Orange were responsible for the anime adaptation.

Genre: Action, Science Fiction, Mystery and Seinen (basically manga for young adults that touchs things normally aren't touched like raping and the likes); this anime gives every indication of being something interesting and will keep you hooked until the end, either by the plot, the characters or the situation, you'll find something to keep you hooked, so I'll mention what I think is best in here, or at least, what it hooked me on:

1 - History: If we talk in terms of originality, this anime is not the first one to be set in a post-apocalyptic world, but if we talk about plot twists this is an interesting one: The idea that everyone tries to live day to day, like if everything is the same and nothing bad is happening, but remembering that they are surrounded by creatures capable of destroying them (is like if they were used to the fear itself), I find that fascinating and intriguing at the same time, as people try to live quietly, their fear is reflected when they found themselves in danger or when they see something (or someone) to blame for their predicament (making them kinda like the society of today), making you wonder if this city really should be protected or if they deserve it; the story, even when focusing on Satomi, Enju and company (which is good), it keeps in reminding us that this story is not only about them, but also of the city and its inhabitants by showing us how they change their way of being/acting to others and the "cursed girls", which also show how society can be when they're in the harshest of predicaments and what they are capable of doing when they let themselves lose to panic and despair (Danganronpa anyone?), which I find interesting and respectable.

2 - Characters: The characters of this anime are all interesting, Kanzaki made sure to give to his own characters a personality that we can relate more with our lives, (i.e.) he made Satomi as a character who always seek to do good but does not want to become a Vigilante (commit execution by his own hand and claiming that he made justice), Enju although it's a girl it's left clear that she has seen terrible things (and the anime gives us light ideas of what kinds of things), but she has managed to overcome them and now tries to live a life as normal as possible with Satomi (who sees her as a girl and not a monster), and which she loves too much ... maybe ... but considering how people usually treats girls like her, no wonder she falled in love of a man who treats her nice (Satomi) and Kanzaki use her love to make comedic relief so I do not see much problem here; there are other characters that appear as the series progresses, some were not given enough screen time and others... I would have prefered for them to not appear at all; there are characters who seemed really fascinating and I felt they managed to get to a symbolic level with the protagonist (you may know which one I mean) so they may be at least one or two characters you may end up liking here... while you'll prefer the other characters to die (I'll talk about that ).

3 - Ideologies/ways of thinking: One of the things that we tend to note about this anime are the characters and their ideologies as a reflexion of how they see the society and high authorities; an example is Satomi, who sees the "Cursed girls" as little girls that deserves to have a better life and want to protect them from the mistreating and abuse from the society (even the police hates the girls) but by doing that he may end up becoming the public enemy No. 1; What makes this interesting to me is that the thinking is not something that was just made up out of thin air, no, the way of thinking of the society has an origin, hte fear of  the "Cursed girls" is for the destruction caused by Gastrea 10 years ago and made everyone to fear the girls who are a product of them (and Ironically the are the only ones capable of dealing with the Gastrea, the city's mortal enemy), even though one may not agree with them, you can understand why they think that way, so I also give Kanzaki credit for it even though I do not like (and I'll explain).

And now it's time to mention the details that I did not like:

A. - The abuse of the little girls: It may be just me (in other words pure opinion), but it has always pained me to see how those girls are mistreated and abused (seriously, it looked like if the anime just mistreated them just so we could weep more) and I understand why, and if the girls doesn't suffer, this anime would not be as good as it actually is, it also wraps as they are attacked for something which they did not even have the Control neither the fault (the girls didn't started the invasion for what we know, but they are blamed for it). I repeat: this is personal and this anime wouldn't be as good without at least a bit of this mistreating ... but ... PLEASE, give them a break!

B. - All but the protagonists are Big Jerks: Again, this is personal, I understand that people act that way for fear (which leads to hate), but that does not mean that EVERY GUY IN EXISTENCE (aside from the protagonists and other good guys) have to be jerks who mistreats the girls (I mean that please show more generic people that actually care for these girls not only a few extras, not everybody is that way).

Well with this in mind I only hope they decide to continue this anime, because the light novel is still being published and that means that the story must go on, because I think this anime has the potential to be one of the best anime made in this generation or at least to be among them.

7/10

Hope you like it and I hope not only for the continuation of this anime, but I also hope to nerf down the ignorance of the people in this story... I think that may be applicable to today's society ...

Disclaimer 3: This is a review in Spanish if you want to see the review in English, please follow the next link: http://segadordeltiempo.blogspot.com/2014/07/black-bullet-review-no-spoilers.html.

Review of No Game No Life (No Spoiler)

Review No Game No Life

Disclaimer 1: Everything stablished in this review is based on my opinion and what I think it is the most important thing to mention about this anime.

Negante 2: If you've seen my other reviews and note that this haven't been written in the same way, that's because this is among my first reviews and I'm trying to set a style while I do this reviews.

One day, someone called Tet (self-proclaimed God of the games) summon them into his world, where all kind of violence and confrontation is forbiddem (from theft to even war) and they are arranged through games (from Rock Paper Scissors, to even magical Chess) and humanity has been reduced from a whole nation, to one simple town in their "fight" against 15 other civilizations that inhabit this world. Shiro Sora then decide to start playing to save humanity as to see how far they can get in this world.

This story is created by Yu Kamiya a Japanese-Brazilian novelist who was the first non-Japanese artist in getting success in Japan by illustrating Mangas with No Game No Life being his first original story (which was originally a light novel) being published by Media Factory (the light novel) it had a manga adaptation and later had another adaptation as an anime made by Madhouse, who have produced / created several great anime like Beyblade, Sakura Cardcaptor, Chobits, Death Note, Trigun, adaptations to anime of other works like Devil May Cry, Sticht; and they have even worked with Marvel and Studio Ghibli (My Neighbor Totoro, Chihiro, Heidi, etc.); they have done films like Paprika and several others which I still don't know. And all that work from Madhouse gives me confidence that this anime is already in good hands.

Genre: Adventure, Comedy, Ecchi, Fantasy & Supernatural; this anime has almost everything: it has a story able to stay interesting, is visually amazing, it has great designs, is funny, it have thoughtful characters, it has its own mythology, and even put educational stuff and still be interesting (which automatically makes it better than school) so I'll go step by step to describe what I find to be the best/more interesting things in this anime :

1 - The visuals: The first thing this anime decides to do, is give us a contrast by showing us the room of the protagonists (all dark and lonely), and then show us the new world in which they'll live. This give us a contrast as the new world is (or at least feels) alive, because of the lively and vibrant colors given to us making this new world be more likable, it feels that there are more than mere humans, it feels that this is not the earth, it feels like you can have a lot of fun here and just enjoy everything, and personally: I think that the landscapes created are beautiful and amazing, I don't remember a view being boring or forgettable, everything felt just how it was supposed to be felt.

But of course, the visuals do not help a lot in an anime without ...

2 - The Designs: Again, in a world with more than humans, we are expected that all the other races have original desings or that at least looks awesome, and they have it: Angels (called Fugel), Elves, War beasts (humans with animal features such as tails and ears (either rabbit, dog, cat , etc ...) have very cool desings; of course there are more species in this world (like dragons and elder gods), but the ones I mentioned previously are the ones that have been shown so far and (again) the desings are good, for example: the Fugel not only have an angelic appearance, but also give the sense of having the power to destroy you if they could (which is good that in this world everything is revolved around games and not violence, right?) and the War beasts have been clearly inspired by the Japanese traditional style.

A Flugel
A War Beast

An Elve

And everything is well complemented by ...

3 - The characters: Since this is a comedy, the characters must be well thought to make us laugh by either their occurrences or their tragedies... Since comedy is subjective (what you found funny may not be the same to someone else), this will be a personal point of view: The type of comedy used in this anime is not my favorite (comedy Ecchi (perverted) specifically, although there are many more types of comedy in this anime like satire), plus the fact that I am a person that usually never laughs, this kind of comedy normally wouldn't make me laugh ... keyword being normally because on more than one occasion this anime made me laugh with the occurrencies and events that the protagonists did, it really made me laugh out loud, and the characters not only made me laugh but they seemed to be well thought, we could see them reasoning and sometimes they were really surprising at how smart and tactic they were, of course that almost bites them in the butt, but I'll let it go this time.

And of course, what most helped (or at least helped me) to be more invested in the history of the anime was ...

4 - The Mythology: Usually an anime gives us a story and you it works with that story instead of giving us more backstory, of course that isn't bad, many animes (like Danganronpa and Death Note) and movies (like Kill Bill and Coraline) do this and they're still good. But sadly, no backstory also means that we cannot invest ourselves too much in history since we do not understand fully what is happening; of course there are exceptions that DO gives some backstory (like DBZ, Naruto, One Piece, Full Metal Alchemist, Full Metal Alchemist:. Brotherhood, etc) but the amount of anime that doesn't do this are overwhelming in comparison. No Game No Life, luckily is among the exceptions, in the early episodes we got explained the mythos of the new world in which the protagonists are (And also explains how Tet took control when there are other gods besides him), that I won't explain veeeeeery long, but the story within the story helps oneself to be more invested in the anime and its characters.

And of course the second question that matters: is there something wrong with this anime? my answer would be yes, there are some bad things in here:

A. - The use of ecchi: I will start this by clearing out that this is subjective and probably only my opinion, but I always thought that using the perverted comedy is one of the lowest types of comedies and ways to rely on the characters (although not the lowest type of comedy IMO), and I find it unnecessary since the plot and occurrences of the characters could have done an equally good comedy without having to go with this it ... But at the same time, and to be fair, the jokes used in this type of comedy were not only good, but I think they can avoid getting old, since they make me laugh every time I see those jokes.

B. - The Protagonists: I said that the characters are well thought out and well made, they're fun and always make me laugh when I see them. But it is very hard to believe that they are real people, ok I understand the part about being hermits, that is a recurring problem in Japan (and other countries like USA) which is where the anime start out, but it costs me to believe that they are so good at games (they're practically invincible and they have never lost not even once except when they fight each other), especially when they defeat hackers, FREAKING HACKERS, if anyone has seen a professional player beat a hacker, let me know and I will correct this, but it seems almost (if not completely) impossible to be that good (seriously, when you see this anime, you will ask more than once "how the hell he did/predicted that!?", especially in the final episode), but in the kind of world they are living, where apparently everybody cheat since (apparently) nobody have enough confidence to win by it's own merits(seriously or they cheat or they rely on luck), that powerful have to be the protagonist to suceed in here.

That aside, I find more enjoyment than anything else in this is anime and I personally recommend it to anyone who likes a good comedy, is fan of the work of Madhouse, want to see an (sort of) original story or just want to watch something enjoyable.

 7/10

This is a very good anime, and I just hope Madhouse decides to make as many seasons as needed to see this story from beginning to end.

Reseña de No Game No Life (Sin Spoilers)

Reseña de No Game No Life

Disclaimer 3: this is a review made in Spanish, if you want to read this in English please follow the next link:http://segadordeltiempo.blogspot.com/2014/07/review-of-no-game-no-life-no-spoiler.html.

Review of Selector Infected WIXOSS (No Spoiler)

Selector Infected WIXOSS Review (No Spoilers)

Disclaimer 1: This is a review without spoilers (duh) for those who want to see it without ruining the story, for those who want a full review (with the spoilers), i'm already doing a full review and the link will be ready soon.

Disclaimer 2: This review is based on my opinion and what I think is the most important thing to note, if you do not agree you can stick to your own opinion.

Synopsis: The Card Game WIXOSS has become very popular among the girls, among them, some girls (nicknamed Selector) are selected to compete aeach other with cards that have minds on their own called LRIG and if they win enough battles, the Selector will turn into "The Infinite Girl" which will have fulfilled a wish, any wish, however if you lose 3 times, your wish will not be fulfilled. The story revolves around Ruko Kominato who just received a LRIG (making her a Selector) named Tama who just wants to fight. Soon will delve into this fight to be the Infinite Girl and discover that there are very precious things that she doesn't want to lose.

Tama, Ruko's LRIG
and one of the main characters
Ruko Kominato
 Main character of this series

This is an anime that really promises, and being created by Mari Okada (who also created other animes like The pet girl of Sakurasou and Black Rock Shooter, just to name a few) and produced by JC Staff (who helped with the creation of other good anime like Nodame Cantabile, Shakugan no Shana, The Familiar of Zero, Aria the Scarlet ammo and The Pet Girl of Sakurasou, again, just to name a few). Sure to be fair J. C. Staff has produced forgettable animes like Witch Craft Works, but thankfully this is not one of them and even perplexes and intrigue you the more you keep watching this story.

Also a quicknote that this is an anime based on a card game (that came out in the same month as this anime), meaning that this anime could have been made to mercandise the game, but personally, I think this anime decided to not focus on the card game and more on the plot.

Now, if the first thing you think while listening the words "anime based on a card game" is Yu-Gi-Oh! Well I have good news and bad news: The bad news is that yes, this will remember you Yu-Gi-Oh! In the sense that much of the action unfolds in card duels and in that the most important thing happens during those (well not every important stuff but it does to the most tense ones). The good news is that unlike Yu-Gi-Oh! The story is quite solid to the point that the most important thing (to some extent) is not wrapped around the cards but more into the history, to the point that you care about the cards (since they have mind of their own, very likeables as well) the story is not totally wrapped around them (since the human characters are also likeable, well... most of them) and what happens to them (In example: at the beggining of the anime there is one character that I just wanted to shut up, but in the end of the season that same character was among those I was invested the most).

This anime did so many things well (aside animation is among the best I've seen personally, there is no bad moment bad drawed or poorly made) and I'll try to say a few to clarify my point:

1.- The intro and the ending are one of the things you will enjoy to hear the most (in a good way, trust me, and you'll enjoy listening them, since they blend with the anime in an excellent way) in fact, do not be surprised repeat that intro (called Killy killy Joker, sung by Kanon) a few times before seeing the episode, is of the type of songs you often likes to hear especially if you like the harmony in it (is almost as if the song was made only for this anime since the lyrics are very meaningful with the plot itself), you will enjoy it more and more, not only that. The ending is also good, called Realize - Yume no Basho Matsuo (so is the name that means more or less "realize - wait for place of dreams) that is (or sounds since I cannot find lyrics of this song, but it will be updated when found) most moving and tragic which is another part of the story of this anime. Basically both the intro and the ending help with composition of the story which give us not only a better idea of the emotional style that will give us but also compliments our way of thinking... that somehow reminds me Madoka Magica ...

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rzY7qyXEBSI&feature=kp. The intro of the anime, making good use of the strings leg help us understand that this may not be a simple picture and quickly progressing to a more quick and exciting images along with step and lyric (http://selector-wixoss.wikia.com/wiki/Killy_killy_JOKER here are the Lyrics of the full song since al the openings with subtitles are in spanish).

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pTdBIckOehA&feature=kp The ending of the anime, initiating in an emotional way but at the same time leaves you thinking (which is very usual for the way in which each episode ends in this series) moving at a pace that sounds more hopeful and upbeat (sorry, but I cannot find lyrics in english).

2.- The lack of Fanservice: Now, before you decide to flame on me, let me explain. A serious problem in several anime (like The familiar, Kanokon, Chibi Vampire and almost any ecchi anime that doesn't have a good plot) is that they tend to use the fanservice (like showing scantily clad women, to say the least) to engage the audience, to the point that normally you see the anime just for the fanservice (of course in Americe you got censorship... lucky bastards, I'm from venezuela btw, if you're wondering), which I personally thinks it severely damage the anime in general and I also think that a good anime doesn't need fanservice to engage the public, there may be fanservice, but can be kept to a minimum or null and still be able to make a great story. For example: Full Metal Alchemist: Brotherhood, Death Note, Code Geass, Danganronpa The animation, Shakugan no Shana (that I remember) are the best examples that come to my head when I think of this (anime with a good story and fanservice putted to a minimum) as fanservice maintained to a minimum or almost zero I think in C: The Money of Soul and Possibility Control (one of my favorite anime as well). And, with this lack of fanservice, it still manage to give a story that hooks you from start to finish and you will not be missing that fanservice (which is a plus for this anime).

3.- Character development: The characters start in a casual way, as you are introduced to them throughout the anime (or suddenly/subtly to the point where you forget about their existence until you return to see the picture from the beginning and see that they are there) and yet they are developed in a good way (especially considering that anime normally give us between 12 to 13 episodes for character development, which sometimes can be very short for us, but this is not the case here) because each episode give us a good time to spend with the characters, both in person and from the point of view of secondary characters, the only example I'll give is this: certain character whose voice is very annoying and it can really annoy you for her being a light headed is developed in a way that will make you admire her (and you will know who I mean * wink *), I will not say neither show you almost anything to avoid giving any kind of spoilers, except that the characters that you must like, you end up liking them, and the characters you must hate, you will wish that they had never been conceived.

4.- Story Development: This may be my opinion, but I think that the greatest strength of this anime, the story, is excellent, you want to know why? Simple: this anime is possibly to market a card game of the same name that came out around the same time that this anime in Japan. The anime, in terms of promoting the actual game, fails (in my opinion), but the anime has a story with enough substance to not only hook you in it, but also makes you want to see more, and (again) in a good way, usually something that many animes do is to end mandatory hooks (a boring episode and when the kicker is about to come, the episode ends, so you'll want to watch the next episode to see how the story continues, to show only 5 minutes from it and come back to give us another boring episode), however Selector Infected WIXOSS despite finishing in hooks, the next episode gives us more to see, more to enjoy, we hooked from start to end and it hook us to see the next episode simply because they ran out of time. And again, I won't say anything to avoid giving any spoilers.

Does this anime have problems? Yes, a few, but none that would keep you from fully enjoy it (well maybe one (take a guess, is not very hard to figure out and you will see it from the beggining), but then they do something that you don't see coming and then you want to see what happen next with that), the only thing keeping it to be among my favorites (and that really bothers me, but not too much) is the fact that ended in a hook for next season, I'm sure they had planned to do since the very beggining (seriously, watch the intro, as the anime begins and ends and other details that I cannot mention (spoilers) and you will understand what I mean with this being planned to have a second season since day one) which I think is unnecessary, because a good anime is able to make us want to watch more and still give us a satisfying ending (Dragon Ball Z, FMA: Brotherhood and Danganronpa The Animation are the best examples that comes to my head) but that does not mean that the end of the first season is bad in any sense, watch it and you will understand.

In Conclusion: This is an anime that I recommend and I hope you'll enjoy it as much as I do, this first season has not only been one of the best stories I've seen since it that shows you do not need fanservice and stuff like that to provide an intriguing story but also it can have characters that you will get very invested (hay, even the ones you'll hate, you'll still want to know them more).

8/10

I just hope that the second season doesn't end like Code Geass and its Second Season ending.
